8 Candy AI alternatives worth trying in 2026
Leaving Candy AI over token spend or memory? Eight Candy AI alternatives compared on price, memory, media and adult access, with sourced figures
· 8 min read
People search for Candy AI alternatives for two reasons: the token spend that piles up on top of the subscription, and memory that doesn't feel as deep as the marketing suggests. The good news is that the category has matured. Below are eight alternatives compared on the things that made you look elsewhere, with every price sourced and dated, and honest notes on what Candy AI still does better.
Why people leave Candy AI
Candy AI is a capable platform. It runs as a PWA on iOS and Android, does chat, voice, photos and video responses, accepts crypto and is openly adult. Its stated memory feature is "personality modeling and memory retention across conversations". None of that is the problem.
The problem is the bill. Candy's pricing page returned a 404 when we checked on September 21, 2026, so the home page is the only primary source: Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly plans, all with tokens for voice, chat, images and video, and top-ups available. According to aicompanionpick (June 26, 2026), the monthly plan is reported at $13.99, the annual at $3.99 per month paid upfront, and Premium includes unlimited chat plus 100 tokens a month. The same source states that "most active users spend $15 to $40 a month on token packs" and that there is "no true free tier". A second source, findaiboyfriend (June 27, 2026), lists the monthly at $12.99, images at 2 to 4 tokens, video at around 12 tokens and voice calls at 3 tokens per minute. The two sources disagree on the base price, which itself tells you something about how hard the total cost is to pin down.
So the shopping list for a Candy AI alternative is short: predictable pricing, memory you can trust, the same media stack, and adult content for verified adults.
What to look for in Candy AI alternatives
- Total monthly cost, not headline price. Ask what a normal month of chat, a few photos and a voice call actually costs.
- Memory you can inspect. "Remembers you" is a claim. Can you read what it remembers and delete it?
- Failed generations. If a photo never arrives, do you get the tokens back?
- Age verification. A real check protects you as much as it protects the platform.
- Where it runs. PWA, native app or web only affects discretion and convenience.
1. Bunny Tease: per-action pricing shown before you confirm
Bunny Tease is the closest match to Candy's format (installable PWA, realistic fictional models, chat plus voice plus photos plus clips for some models) with a different attitude to money and memory. The price of every action appears before you confirm it, so there is no surprise at the end of the month. A photo (about 20 seconds to generate) or a clip (about a minute) that is billed but not delivered returns its tokens. Plans are monthly, quarterly or annual, with tokens alongside; see /pricing for figures, which we never quote in articles.
Memory is the other difference. Every memory a model keeps is visible in the Memory panel and can be erased one at a time or all at once. Adult content is limited to verified adults via an independent age check. Where Candy wins: crypto payments and 24/7 support, both stated on its site. Where Bunny Tease is weaker: twenty models at launch, no group chats yet.
2. OurDream AI: one flat plan with images and video included
If tokens are your main complaint, OurDream is the simplest answer. Its home page lists $19.99 per month or $119.88 per year, both with unlimited messages, image and video generation, and 1,000 dreamcoins a month; the yearly plan adds 1,000 bonus coins. Voice calls are included and the platform is adult.
Where Candy wins: Candy has a PWA and a free trial; OurDream is web only with a Discord community and no free tier mentioned on its home page. Coins still exist, so it isn't fully unmetered, and the per-image coin cost isn't published.
3. Nomi AI: memory as the whole point
Nomi's pitch is "an AI companion with memory and a soul", with short, medium and long-term memory layers, emotive voice chats and hands-free calls, group chats with several Nomis, and an unfiltered stance for adults. Web, iOS and Android, with a free tier that reportedly allows around 50 messages a day (pocketanimus, June 2026).
Pricing is not shown on nomi.ai. According to pocketanimus (June 2026) it is reported at $15.99 per month, $39.99 per quarter or $99.99 per year. Where Candy wins: Nomi does not mention video generation, and it has fewer visual features.
4. Kindroid: deep context, no token metering on core features
Kindroid is built for people who want the model to remember months of conversation. According to pocketanimus (July 2026), the Standard plan is around $13.99 per month on the web, with Ultra and MAX memory add-ons at +$24.99 and +$59.99. Core features are not token-metered, voice and video calls are included, and there is a free tier with two companion slots on a lighter model.
Where Candy wins: cost at the top end. Kindroid's full stack comes to $98.97 per month according to the same source, and its own billing page was unreachable when we checked.
5. DreamGF: published token prices, cheap entry
DreamGF's home page lists Bronze at $9.99, Silver $19.99, Gold $49.99 and Diamond $99.99 per month, each with 100 tokens, plus token packs from $2.99 to $179.99. Unlike Candy, it publishes the per-action costs: 10 tokens per image, 3 per voice message, 7 per minute of voice call, 20 to create a companion. New users get a free trial and up to 50 daily bonus messages.
Where Candy wins: video responses (DreamGF doesn't mention video) and a clearer pricing page; DreamGF's home page and pricing page show different tables.
6. Kupid AI: free unlimited basic chat
Kupid's free tier includes unlimited basic chat with 40+ pre-made characters, both realistic and anime, which is more generous than Candy's reported 10 to 20 free messages. Paid tiers add photos, text-to-video and image-to-video, with premium reported around $14 per month (makeaigf, 2026). It installs as a PWA.
Where Candy wins: memory. According to makeaigf, Kupid's Premium tier keeps only 48 hours of chat memory, with long-term memory on the more expensive Ultimate plan. If memory is why you're leaving Candy, this is not your destination.
7. GirlfriendGPT: no filters, huge community library
GirlfriendGPT (now at gptgirlfriend.online) offers 7,500+ community characters and an explicit no-filter policy, with an image generator and voice chat on higher tiers. Reported pricing, according to aigirlfriendmojo (December 2025): Premium $15, Deluxe $35, Elite $50 per month, with 5,000, 20,000 and unlimited messages respectively and monthly coin allowances.
Where Candy wins: unlimited chat on Premium. GirlfriendGPT caps messages below its top tier, and advanced long-term memory is reported only on Elite.
8. Replika: if what you actually want is support, not romance
Replika is a different product: emotionally supportive companionship on iOS and Android, with voice and video conversations and strong memory for routines and plans. The US App Store lists monthly in-app purchases at $7.99 and $14.99 and yearly at $49.99 and $69.99. It is not an adult platform (erotic role-play was removed in 2023 and only restored for earlier users), and Italy's regulator fined its maker EUR 5 million in April 2025 for lacking age verification.
Where Candy wins: adult content, photos and video generation. Replika belongs here only if the romance was never the point.

FAQ
Is there a Candy AI alternative with no tokens at all?
Kindroid is reported not to meter core features by token, and OurDream bundles unlimited messages with a monthly coin allowance rather than per-message billing. Fully unmetered image and video generation is rare anywhere, because every generated photo has a real compute cost. The realistic goal is a platform that shows the cost before each action, which is what Bunny Tease does.
Which alternative has better memory than Candy AI?
Nomi and Kindroid make memory their headline feature and offer the deepest context on paper. Bunny Tease offers something the others don't: a Memory panel where you read exactly what the model remembers and delete anything you want gone. Avoid Kupid's mid tier if memory matters; it's reported at 48 hours.
Can I try these without paying?
Nomi, Kupid, DreamGF, GirlfriendGPT and Replika have free tiers with limits. Bunny Tease lets you chat as a guest with no account at /start; the guest chat stays non-explicit until you verify your age. OurDream doesn't mention a free tier.
Is Candy AI a bad app?
No. It has one of the most complete media stacks in the category, a PWA, crypto support and 24/7 support. The reasons people leave are cost predictability and memory depth, not quality. If neither bothers you, there's no reason to switch.
Where to start
Pick the alternative that fixes your actual complaint. Tokens on top of a subscription: OurDream or Bunny Tease. Memory: Nomi, Kindroid or Bunny Tease. Budget: DreamGF's Bronze tier or Kupid's free chat. If you want to see how transparent pricing and readable memory feel in practice, start a guest conversation with Camille Ravel and open the Memory panel after a few messages. Details on plans and cancellation are in the help center.
Bunny Tease is reserved for verified adults (18+).
